THE CHITTAURGARH FORT
The Citadel of Rajput Chivalry. The Fort located
on a high plateau, sprawls supremely over the
country side. The fort area is the largest amongst
the forts in Rajasthan,
it is all in ruins as it witnessed many battles notably
against Allaudin Khilji and Akbar

VIJAY STAMBH
The meaning of Vijay Stambh is 'Victory Tower'. This
tower is a 9 storied tower which was erected during
1458 to 1468. It is 37 meters high. 157 steps leads
us to the top of tower.

KIRTI STAMBH
This 12th century tower was built by a Jain merchant and was dedicate to Adinath, the first Jain
Tirthankar (one of the 24 great Jain teachers). This
tower is 22meters high. There are 7 storeys of the
tower.

RANA KUMBHA PALACE
Within the fort premises, on one side is the massive 15th century Rana Khumbha's Palace. It
has both elephant and horse stables.

MEERA BAI TEMPLE
Built during the reign of Maharana Kumbha and later given to Mira Bai
as a place for worship to Lord Krishna. It
depicts impressive Rajput architecture with the dome
depicting carved human bodies each having their own
symbolic significance. There are also paintings of
Lord Krishna and Mira Bai depicting Bhakti, You
shall find many other interesting things within the
temple.

PADMINI PALACE
Padmini's palace, built by the side of the lotus pool with its pavilion.
Padmini was the wife of Maharana Ratan Singhji and
considered as a most beautiful women of this area.
The battles of Allaudin Khilji and Maharaja Ratan
Singhji are well known

KUMBHA SHYAM TEMPLE
On the eastern side of Chittaurgarh is
the 15th century Kumbha Shyam Temple, dedicated to Sarah, the Boar incarnation of Vishnu.
Built by Maharana Kumbha. The mythical bird Garuda is in front of the temple, under a canopy supported by
pillars. Fine carvings of Lord Vishnu depicting
different moods.

KALIKA MATA TEMPLE
The 8th century temple originally dedicated to the
Sun God (Surya) was later converted to a Kalika
temple. This temple is near the Padmini place. It
features amazing carvings and sculptures. This
temple was destroyed to some extent in several
attacks by the mughal rulers.
